Dear users, it’s an immense pleasure for me to welcome you to the website of the National Communication Council (NCC). My joy is even greater as I kick off my term at the head of the NCC alongside (08) other Members thanks to the presidential decree of 04 June 2021. This marks a new era mainly based on digital communication, in order to get as close as possible to our main target, that is: the media professionals. As a matter of fact, this new media is an excellent platform to increase the NCC’s visibility and to build support around our actions, in order to promote our slogan: A free but responsible press.
On this digital platform, you will find all the necessary information to better understand media regulation in all its forms, in Cameroon. You will find texts that govern the mass communication sector in Cameroon, decisions taken by the Council, the opinions of Council members on issues pertaining to mass communication in Cameroon, a media library wherein the procedure for handling complaints lodged with the NCC, can be accessed…
A section is provided for you, dear users, to report any programme that infringes on professional ethics. While thanking you for your interest in the work carried out by the NCC, I hope that you will find in this section all the necessary tools for an in-depth knowledge of the NCC, so that together, we can take up the challenge of cleaning up the media landscape in Cameroon by finding sustainable solutions to current problems such as: disinformation, hate speech, media literacy etc.
The President
Joseph CHEBONGKENG KALABUBSU
