The NCC's awareness media campaign stopped in Douala.

The President of the National Communication Council (NCC) conducted a sensitisation tour of media organs in Douala from the 3rd to the 4th of September, 2024.

Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubsu, the President of the NCC, led a delegation to the economic capital of Cameroon on an awareness media tour as part of the institution’s ‘Coffee Talk’ series. The purpose of this edition was to discuss best practices in conducting interactive programmes, live talk shows, and debates with Editors-in-Chief, moderators, and media proprietors.

The delegation, which included Council member Serge Ngando Ntone, Secretary General Professor Jean Tobie Hond, and media experts Samson Websi and Jean Lambert Nang, emphasized the media’s crucial role in fostering peace, social cohesion, and fair, balanced, and impartial information. They also urged media practitioners to adhere to professional ethics within their newsrooms and on set.

The delegation visited STV, Equinoxe TV, Canal 2, and My Media Prime. Participants in the talks expressed their satisfaction with the tour, which provided an excellent opportunity to discuss, inquire, and share concerns and experiences with the regulator of the mass communication sector. They hoped for more frequent interactions of this kind.
