The Vice-President of the National Communication Council, Mr. Peter Essoka, steered talks on Thursday, January 17 between the Council and some French media experts that bordered on easing Cameroon’s imminent migration from analog to digital broadcasting.

The delegation of five experts from Analysis Mason Consulting Firm was headed by the Prime Minister’s representative, Mr Obounou Mvotto Janvier.

During the talks, the NCC mainly requested that within the switchover process, the clout of its regulatory powers be taken into account and that it be aptly represented within Cameroon Digital Television (CAMDTV), the national body overseeing the switchover.

Other poignant areas, the NCC suggested that the team focus on included; the management of fallouts of the forthcoming digital broadcasting and the issue of simultaneous transmission of similar events by different content providers.

In response, the experts, headed by Mr Luis Brodel, said they will aid the NCC with technical knowhow and practical orientations.

The next meeting with the experts will hold in three months.
