Status

The National Communication Council is a consultative body placed under the authority of the Prime Minister, Head of Government. Its main mission is to assist the authorities in the elaboration, implementation and follow up of the national policy on communication. Since the democratization process and more importantly regulating communication ore still under construction, there is reason to foresee the status of the NCC also evolves.

The National Communication Council is placed under the authority of a President who is appointed by a presidential decree and is comprised of a permanent secretary, an expert in the laws of communication and other tenured members, designated representatives of the administration, and professional corporations of communication, religious organisations, cultural and feminine. The actual advisers were nominated in 2004.
