The National Communication Council (NCC) received the new High Commissioner to Canada Loraine Anderson at its head office. It was a cordial meeting which focused on discussing the council’s activities and preparations for the upcoming elections.
Stating the motive to the visit, the Canadian high commissioner in Cameroon showed interest in the council’s role to freedom of expression, promoting transparency, and inclusive communication on media (youths and women), capacity building, fake news, and social media challenges like content control, misinformation and defamation.
The NCC president presented an overview of the council’s activities and highlighted the organization’s mission to promote effective communication and media practices in the country. He also emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with international partners, such as Canada, to foster knowledge sharing and capacity building.
The National Communication Council’s meeting with the new High Commissioner to Canada ended with both parties looking forward to enhance the communication sector in Cameroon.
